November 15, 1930 - July 17, 2010
Ernest Gene Dunn, 79, passed away on Saturday, July 17, 2010. The only son to Twila and Carl Dunn, Ernest was born in Hookstown, PA on Nov. 15, 1930. He was a graduate of Ohio University with BS in Mechanical Engineering and as a 2nd Lt. from ROTC.
Married Hazel R. Smith Aug. 9, 1953 in East Liverpool, OH. Ernie served in Army Ordnance and was stationed in Korea as a 2nd Lt. After discharge he worked as a Sales Engineer in Process Instrumentation until retirement. He also served as a Church officer at Brooklyn United Presbyterian Church in Cleveland, OH, and as a Cub Scout Master and Indian Guide Leader. A job transfer brought him to Chicago. He resided in Crystal Lake, IL for 27 years and was an active member of the Ridgefield Crystal Lake Presbyterian Church where he served as trustee and arranged ushers for multiple services for many years. He retired at age 68 from Rosemount Analytical and has been a Carson City resident for the last 10 years.
Ernie was preceded in death by his parents. He leaves behind Hazel, wife of 57 years, sons Damon E. (Susan) of Wilmette, IL, Roderick C. (Tara) of Crystal Lake, IL, Wesley M. (Cyndi) of Cedar Falls, IA, daughter Valerie L. (Ed) Kruklewicz of St. Charles, IL and three Grandchildren; Dakota Dunn, Colin and Claire Krukiewicz.
Celebration of Earnie's life
will be held at Christ Presbyterian Church, Gardnerville, NV, Monday, July 26,
2010, at 10:00 am.
